Having celebrated my 30th birthday recently, I guess I have lived sufficiently long and have gained sufficient experience to be able to dispense some gems of wisdom. Because, it is true, wisdom does come with age, sometimes.
Well, here goes...
- If there's any doubt at all, you probably shouldn't do whatever you're wondering whether you should be doing.
- If you think you're always right, then there's something very wrong with you.
- If you try to pretend to be someone or something else; the only person you're fooling is yourself; everybody else can see through you like you're wearing clear plastic underwear.
- If your moments of happiness coincides with the unhappy moments of the people around you, then you better take a look at your life and what you're doing.
- A hypocrite is not someone who talks behind another person's back; those are called gossipers or back-stabbers. When in doubt, consult a dictionary.
- A friend is not the person who labels herself as such; it's a person who behaves as such. If in doubt, one may consult a dictionary here as well.
- You are a special person with your unique traits. But you are an irritating person when you insist on your specialness. Learn to differentiate one from the other.
- If you think you're perfect, please leave us inperfect mortals to our own devices and not spoil our fun.
- If you're the only one who thinks you're right, then you're wrong.
- If you don't plan to listen, then stop asking for advice.
- If they don't ask for advice, then stop giving it. They won't listen anyway.
- You don't have a right to anything except to exist on this world. So stop demanding for your rights.
- Don't be 'sensitive'. We all know how inconvenient and painful sensitive teeth is.
- Before setting off to try to save the world and make it a better place, start with saving yourself first. If you can't even handle yourself, what makes you think you can deal with the crap of the rest of the world?

The search starts within...
Mankind.
Are forever on a quest to search for or to search out something.
There's an interminable desire, to conquer new frontiers, discover new lands, confront limitations, unearth possibilities, chase dreams.
We don't rest. We never rest.
We just want to go on and on and on. Unceasingly. Pertually. Unrelentlessly. Onward, forward, march. Into a new thing, a new world.
And we leave behind an impossible trail of the past, the unwanted, the things we want to forget we ever had, we ever were, we ever did.
Trying. To forget, to ignore, to disremember, to relinquish. To pretend.
We say. We're putting the past behind us. We're moving forward. We're gaining new ground. We're picking momentum.
And so we plod on and on.
We search but we can't find. We eat but we're always hungry. We cover ourselves but we're always cold. We laugh but we're not happy. We say we're good but our hearts expose us as liars.
We are beautiful on the outside, but inside we are fading, failing, withering, disintegrating, crumbling, corroding. Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day.
And one day, the grandeur, the brilliance, the superbity hat we present to the world will show itself for what it really is, merely trappings of a hollow and empty inside. And that day is soon.
The search starts within.
On our insides lie the beginning of every good thing that can and will happen. If only we're willing to look deep enough, hard enough, long enough.
It demands that we put aside everything else that distracts, that we look unflinching into the face of truth and integrity.
The process is uncomfortable. It's scary. It's humbling. It's heart-wrenching even.
But there's really no other way, to start on that journey really, then from within.
